OJ Simpson Trial – Then And Now

The OJ Simpson trial is often characterized as the Trial of the Century because of its international publicity. On June 12, 1994, the NFL star’s wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman were found stabbed to death at her LA condo. After failing to turn himself him and becoming the subject of a low-speed pursuit, OJ was arrested and tried for the murders. In 1995, Simpson was acquitted of all charges but the damage to his reputation was done. Now, over 20 years later, we take a look at where the key chars ended up. Here are all of the people who had a hand in the outcome of the OJ Simpson trial:

  • OJ Simpson was born July 9, 1947 in San Francisco, California.
  • OJ Simpson was a star-studded football player who won the Heisman Trophy during his time at the University of Southern California. He went on to play as a running back for 11 seasons, from 1969 to 1977 with the Buffalo Bills and from 1978 to 1979 with the San Francisco 49ers.
  • Although Simpson was acquitted of all charges for the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman, the Goldman family filed a civil suit against him. The civil jury unanimously found Simpson liable for wrongful death and battery against Goldman and awarded the family $33.5 million.
  • In 2007, OJ was arrested in Las Vegas and charged with numerous felonies including armed robbery and kidnapping. This time, he was found guilty and sentenced to 33 years, with a minimum of nine years without parole.
  • Today he is serving his sentence at the Lovelock Correctional Center in Nevada.
